The thunder cracked, tagged by a loud rumble, it rolled directly above their heads, followed by a bright flash. “Look there it is again. Did you see that?” Rosie stood mesmerized. “Yes. They look like those scary aliens that Borealis was telling us about. Watch out they’re coming from all directions,” the youth bellowed as he lunged forward to grab Rosie’s arm and pull her to the ground, but he was too late. The alien Queen had Rosie tightly grasped within her tresses. The green giant’s warm, ripe breath, upon his face made him woozy. He knew now where the stench was coming from. Brooke held on to Rosie firmly by the ankles. A green, leathery claw forcefully seized his wrist lifting him from the ground. Instantly the weavers formed a large hand and ripped Brooke from the creature’s grip but it was too late for the girl, she had been snatched. “HELP, SOMEBODY HELP ME.” cried Rosie but her calls were suffocated by the howling wind, and a blood curdling screech of victory that came from the alien Monarch. The invading party disappeared into an electric, whirling mist.
