After Overseas Service during the war,Jeanne trained in photography at what became The Ryerson Institute in Toronto, and at Brooks Institute of Photography, Santa Barbara for 8 months. Eventually she was employed by the Geological Survey,Ottawa, as a photographer. 

There subjects included fossils and minerals photographed to specific standards for the scientists. On holidays and in spare time Jeanne did freelance photography training her camera on animals,pets,birds, and general nature subjects, choosing holiday locations in such diverse locations as the Galapagos,Australia, China, the Everglades and Africa. Today, still adding to her nature photos, Jeanne combines them with appropriate literary quotes, sometimes amusing, sometimes philosophical.
