the amount of time that I spent "scribbling". At 16, I sold my first short story to a major magazine - and was paid for it! I took creative writing English courses in High School and wrote many articles for newspapers and magazines. While in a career as a Banker in a small village in South Africa, I also acted as "Community Correspondent" for the newspaper, the "Natal Witness" in Maritzburg. After hitch-hiking around Europe and the UK, I settled in Canada where I again "banked" but wrote for local newspapers. Finally, in 1967, Canada's "Centenial Year", my Centenial Project was "to upgrade my educatiion from a Grade 10 level"; and I attended the University of Calgary where I eventually, after Graduate Studies, became a Clinical Psychologist - the very first "Community Psychologist" in Canada. In my 50s, I was a "Candidate" for the Canadian Space program.

When the dust settled, there were over 3700 applicants and when they finally cut the candidates from 600 to 60, I lost out - but am still very proud that "I tried anyhow". In 2006, I self-published the "First book in the Huguenot Trilogy", ESCAPE TO FREEDOM; and in 2008, I finished the "Second book", FOLLOW THE WIND. I am now working diligently on my new novel, the "Final book in the Huguenot Trilogy, THE EARLY YEARS which I hope to finish in March 2011. So far, I have 4 more future novels in my backpack. After spending my early youth Banking with three different banks on three different continents, I loved my new career as a Clinical Psychologist for Menetal health in Banff, Alberta and Nanaimo, BC. I retired at 65 to spend a month of research in Provence, France with my wife touring a miriad of historic sites. Fern and I now live in a cottage on the inner coast of Vancouver Island off the West Coaset of Canada in the Pacific Ocean. We have two eagles living in a nest which we can observe from our front deck's miracle view of Gulf Islands and the ocean. I am now 77 and going strong!  Overview here
