SEASON OF DECEIT | Trafford Publishing
Trafford Publishing Author Robin Timmerman is a member of Crime Writers of Canada. Season of Deceit is her second mystery novel, featuring Middle Island police officer Pete Jakes and his wife, Ali. Robin is a graduate of the Humber School of Writing in Toronto and teaches a class in writing to literacy students.
Overview
It’s one weird winter on Middle Island for young police officer Pete Jakes and his wife, Ali. It’s raining in February, and it hasn’t snowed since Christmas. The woods are swamps, the snowmobiles silent, and bored hunters are shooting up the local mailboxes. Meanwhile, Police Chief Halstead and his deputies are busy carrying out the Provincial Emergency Preparedness Plan for the Island. Never mind that the local version of a chemical spill would be the overturning of Black’s septic removal truck. Too bad there’s no preparedness for murder. When a woman gets killed by a stray shot, the police find too many suspects and far too many rifles. Is it a shot gone wrong by reckless hunters? Or maybe the woman’s estranged husband, a good old Island boy who lives with his dog in the swamp? A killer is on the loose and rifles are turning up all over. Ali Jakes has her own preoccupation; she’s seven months pregnant, suffering toxemia, and her doctor and husband have put her under strict house arrest till the baby comes. Bored with jigsaws and women’s afternoon television, she discovers her own terrifying connection to the Island crime wave.

BA in financial management, and I am currently pursing masters in financial management and criminal justice respectively. I am also working on other manuscripts for publication that involve areas of diverse interest.
Overview
This book is about pastor Tita (Prince) who passed through the rigors of time under economic hardship caused by incessant militia attacks to reach to the echelon of self attainment, but having violet his boss Mpyama’s (He shall inherit) rules by sneaking out to have affairs with prostitutes of the ‘other side of town’ they later came calling. He later lost himself and followed the ladies and joined their religious denomination, and he later traveled overseas where he had more sexual encounters and was as well ordained a pastor. After his ordination, he sold his conscience for bags of CFA by engaging in sexual immorality, and while at home his homosexual approach led to his banishment, and he later returned and became a problem. This book is the first of its kind that gave clear and convincing evidence of how people, especially those who have established themselves deliberately out of greed, self-aggrandizements, gluttony and egocentrism indulge in sexual immorality just to make more money. It also portrays the impacts of such immoral behaviors on peaceful communities and the society in general. This book also shows the many ramifications of the present day religious organizations and their impacts on individuals.

This book describes research studies in job satisfaction in higher education, an interesting subject to which many people have contributed articles. The aim of the book is to provide a greater understanding of the overall, as well as some of the more important, determinants of job satisfaction. The book explores the implications of the research findings towards understanding and explaining the level of satisfaction of workers, the implications of these findings towards the effective management of organisations, and speculation on employees’ overall productivity. Although data were collected from the United Kingdom for the research described in this book, references were made throughout to the situation in other parts of the world. Containing eleven chapters, the book explains the concept of job satisfaction and its determinants. Its importance is also discussed as well as various models of the construct which are used worldwide, one of which we employed in the investigation of the many aspects of the topic. Four chapters review previous studies on age, rank, length of service, gender and their relationships with job satisfaction. The last chapter reviews related studies on job satisfaction with respect to line managers’ supervision, co-workers’ behaviour, pay satisfaction, satisfaction with promotions and satisfaction with primary tasks. Before the final summary and conclusions the chapter asks whether the time spent on a task is related to the enjoyment of it, looking at research evidence for the answer.

Why William Lynn Smith I have always been afraid to ask God why. When people get hurt and old dogs die. I have heard it said all my life; God is in Control But way down deep inside, that always left me cold. I really don’t understand why a mother loses a child It is a mystery why people are hurt when a man goes wild. Why is it that a marriage just seems to slowly crumble? Why a person high in esteem takes a messy tumble. If God is in control, is He so vengeful, so narrow in his expectations; That he strikes us down because we are not perfect in our relations. Would it have been different if the dead child’s mother had been faithful? Would the faithful in the crowd have been hurt by the mad man hateful? I know my Nancy was faithful. She loved her Jesus and never asked why. So way down deep inside I really don’t understand why God allowed her to die. What did she do wrong? Why wasn’t her life long? Why was that vile disease allowed to desecrate her? That seems so lame. If God wanted her in His Heaven, why didn’t just walk with her without the pain? I know the printed answer that the Bible has in its pages. Some even say that it is for our sins that we collect our wages. I know that for this reason we are called the faithful, that’s good for me Because Jesus painfully died on the cross to show the way we must be. I will never understand why the love of my life died in such a way. But I do understand that I am not God, no not even for one day. His thoughts are higher than my thoughts; His ways are higher than mine So I really don’t have the ability to understand even if he took the time. My job is to simply carry on, to take one day and then another To care for my family, my new wife, my sister, brother and mother. ‘Til at last it is my turn at the gate, I will pray really fervent, That when I meet Jesus he will say “Well done, My good and faithful servant.”

He graduated from Northwest High school in McDermott, Ohio, in 1961. He obtained a BS degree in political science and then moved back to Southern Ohio to begin a teaching career. A couple of years later, he obtained a master’s degree from Xavier University at Cincinnati. In addition to retiring from the Naval Reserve as a chief petty officer, he spent almost forty years in education being a teacher, assistant principal, and a principal.
