Steven was born and raised in New York, USA. His family moved to Ghajnsielem in the south-eastern Maltese island of Gozo when he was about seven years old. Despite the sudden cultural change, he adapted to the peaceful island life quite well and learned the native language easily. He earned a degree in Geography, as well as a teacher’s warrant from the University of Malta, and graduated with honours. He also speaks three languages.
